VFSS Analysis Tool supports local video-based analysis workflows for videofluoroscopic swallow study research recordings. Users work with files selected on their own computer and export results locally.
Analysis and annotation
- Load one or multiple local VFSS recordings into a project.
- Review video frame by frame with precise navigation and frame-rate controls.
- Place two jaw landmarks manually and use prediction tools for short, smooth sequences.
- Mark swallow-onset frames and optional jaw-opening counts.
- Inspect jaw gape, movement, peaks, troughs, cycles, velocities, and swallow timing.
- Use event logs, swallow logs, jaw statistics, and display enhancement during review.
Projects and exports
- Track annotation, result-saving, and export status across multiple videos.
- Save and reopen sessions as sidecar JSON, package folders, or bundled VFSS files.

Privacy and research use
VFSS Analysis Tool is designed for investigator-controlled, frame-level review rather than black-box automation.
- Source videos are opened from the user's computer and are not uploaded to BioAtlas servers.
- Researchers choose where sessions, workbooks, CSV files, images, and videos are saved.
- Landmark placement, predicted points, and event annotations remain reviewable and editable.
- Analysis frame rate, landmark definitions, ranges, and software version can be documented for reproducibility.
