Main analysis workflow

  • Load a user-selected video file and optional audio file.
  • Display synchronized video playback and audio waveform views.
  • Use original video audio or external audio when appropriate.
  • Adjust audio offset and playback controls for review.
  • Mark analysis start and stop, pasta dropped, pasta contact, gnaw, bite, and chew events.
  • Use threshold-based auto detection for gnaw, bite, or chew events.
  • Refresh detected events while preserving user edits.
  • Save annotated sessions and export event summary files.

Cohort analysis workflow

  • Import exported Pasta Bite event summary files.
  • Assign experimental factors such as genotype, sex, or a third user-defined factor.
  • Save and reopen cohort files.
  • Add more data files to an existing cohort file.
  • Inspect all measured parameters and missing data.
  • Run one-click statistical analysis across measured parameters.
  • Generate customizable plots for selected measures.
  • Export master data files, results, and plot images.

Privacy and data handling

The desktop application works with files selected by the user on the local computer.

  • Video and audio files remain on the user's computer.
  • Annotated sessions and cohort files are not uploaded to BioAtlas servers.
  • Researchers choose where exported results and plot images are saved.
